Gregg and Ron have extensively researched American traditional music. The band performs entire shows of Hawaiian music, and also offers the acclaimed show "Aloha Y'all" which tells how Hawaiian music deeply influenced American music. They also offer shows on Virginia music based on Ron's research for Virginia Roots: the 1929 Richmond Sessions (a two-CD set) and Gregg's extensive research and publishing on Virginia Music, such as this entry on the Bristol Sessions.
